FOR THE TROOPS Do you some free time during the week? Looking for a way to support our soldiers? With very little effort you can make a big impact by helping pack boxes that will be sent to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. For The Troops is located in the shopping center on Cochran, East of Sycamore. They are in a storefront near Staples. Every week a small group of volunteers gathers there to pack boxes.
You do not need to RSVP or sign up ahead of time; you just need to show up and they will put you to work. This is NOT strenuous work, it's easy and you can probably even sit down part of the time if you have trouble standing. You don't have to stay the whole time, either, just give them as much time as you have available.
Please don't park in front of their headquarters; they leave that parking for their neighbors' customers. The back door will be unlocked so you can park around back. FEEDING THE NEEDY
The third Saturday of every month, it is CBE's responsibility to feed the needy members of our community at the Methodist Church at Cochran & Erringer in Simi Valley.
How about gathering some family and friends to help out? It only takes 3 - 5 people working together from 3 - 7 PM. If you are in a Havurah, please consider this as a group activity. Please join us by contacting Tami Plotkin at drtamip@hotmail.com.
RECYCLE YOUR BATTERIES AND PRINTER CARTRIDGES!!
A recycle receptacle is mounted at the Temple on the wall in the hallway in front of the blue curtain. The batteries will be taken to Waste Management and the ink cartridges will be taken to Staples and Office Depot, who will in turn give us coupons to use for office supplies.
